Citibank has launched a new iPad application that can help users manage their bank accounts. Citibank for iPad departs from the traditional ledger-style banking interface by integrating graphs and visual representations of a consumers accounts and transactions. All of the most common banking tools are included within the application, along with several more advanced features that allow users to plan cash outflows on and interactive chart, analyze personal spending habits, and compare spending habits with general consumer data. Citibank for iPad is available as a free download through the App Store.

Smart Surfing updated for Lion

Smart Surfing, a security tool from Trend Micro, has been updated and now features full support for OS X Lion. The utility is designed to block IM and e-mail links that can lead to dangerous websites, as well as protect users from phishing scams and prevent dangerous software from being installed. Tools for managing a child's online activity are also included, allowing parents to block specific sites and control IM access. Finally, the software offers protection against viruses, worms, Trojan horse programs, and other everyday security threats. Smart Surfing generally sells for $50, however, Trend Micro has announced that it will be offering a 50 percent discount until August 19th.
