Unlike a botched handling
of a non-DRM'd version of Photoshop CS2 that was briefly available without registration last month, Adobe and the Computer History Museum have announced that the original source code
for Photoshop version 1.0.1 (circa 1990) is being made public and is now downloadable for free. The download contains over 128,000 lines of code in a mixture of Pascal and 68000 Assembly language, but does not include the MacApp applications library that was at the time licensed from Apple. The code is for non-commercial use only, however, and requires that downloaders agree to the terms of a license.
